Lifesaver

Some news from the world of Royalty...
********************

I attempted to clear out my desk this afternoon. I was trying to look for that membership renewal form from NAAP and MaraGar's book, Conquering the Paper Pile-Ups. It's funny, now that I think about it. Irony of all ironies. I am losing a book on organizing your files precisely because I am not organized. Maybe I should stop laughing now because Mara is asking for it already, and she can pack a good punch.

Albeit I didn't finish cleaning up and only found the renewal form, I stumbled upon another important document which I almost forgot to clear out from my locker last week. The document is the only existing copy in print of the first two episodes of M.D. Yes, yes. I'm sure you all know what that is. Why, it was Marcala Productions, Ltd.'s first foray in the world of Television. M.D. was an immediate hit, and it premiered at No. 1. Sadly, the show's producers have been too preoccupied with their other billion dollar enterprises, so M.D. has been off-air for the past season...on a hiatus, if you will. Looking through the script almost made me cry with tears of remembrance. No, actually, it made me laugh. It now kind of reminds me of those SNL skits. I can just imagine Tina Fey playing Regina, Maya Rudolph playing Melissa, Jimmy Fallon playing Drake, and Will Ferrell playing Trent. Hahaha...Will Ferrell as Trent...maybe not...

People come up to me sometimes, begging me and Manna to write another episode.

Okay, okay...so that's not really true, but at least Carleen did ask me once, though she didn't really come up to me since she was conveniently my seatmate.

I'm starting to think about it now. I mean, it would be such a waste if Manna and I end there. My sister, upon watching me enact the whole pilot episode by myself, says I could use this script in college. I understand that she is very supportive, but I don't think this is the kind of material the UP College of Mass Communications is looking for. Nevertheless, I feel that this is good material, worthy of the cult following that it currently has. Why, we have numerous websites, some of which I don't even remember anymore. Okay, so we only had 2 or 3 websites, and the "fanbase" that I'm talking about consists of me, Manna, Marga, 3na, and maybe Patty or Carleen, but I say give them what they want. We can't let them down, even they're just a couple of people.

M.D. fans, do not fear. Your Lifesavers* are here.

*"Lifesaver" is the title of the M.D. theme song.
